Bethany Price Psychotherapy

Welcome!

I commend you on taking this first step on your therapeutic journey. It can be intimidating to share vulnerability with an other in times of need and I see your courage to move towards healing, growth, and a self-determination. You are the expert of your experience and I am here to bear witness to your whole self.

Hi! My name is Bethany Price (AMFT#144644) and I am passionate and curious therapist. I approach psychotherapy from a multi-faceted perspective and develop treatment to be tailored to the individual client’s needs. I love helping people grow into more authentic ways of being, improve relationships, and develop self-compassion.

I am trauma-informed and I work with individuals who are suffering due to childhood wounding, grief & loss, anxiety & depression, and systemic oppression.

I specialize in helping people find meaning and heal from the grief that accompanies life transitions, loss, and trauma. I also enjoy working with neurodivergent clients, people in the arts, and all ages. My clients are creative, open to exploration, and from diverse backgrounds.

Methods

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a therapeutic technique that utilizes a person’s visual field to process traumatic memories. The founder of Brainspotting, David Grand, describes the effect of trauma on the body as “frozen maladaptive homeostasis”. Through taking a mind-body approach to trauma, brain spotting is a bottom-up approach that seeks to relieve mental, emotional, and physical stress.

Holistic

A holistic perspective refers to consideration of all facets of an individual’s experience - thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, social factors, cultural context, formative history, and strengths. Bringing presence to the many parts of our lived experience allows an expansion of understanding ourselves, others, and the spaces we occupy.

Somatics

Somatic therapy recognizes the mind-body connection and how our physical, mental, and emotional states affect each other. In our busy society, the messages from our physical sensations can become muted from our awareness. Through reclaiming awareness of how our body informs the mind and methods of soothing distress, a greater capacity occurs for grounding, trusting intuition, and health.
